First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here! And how to make the Off Set V Stitch, tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3 + 1, I made 151 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook
*Skip 2 CHs, make 1 DC V into the next CH
Repeat the step above from * until you have 3 CHs left in this row
Skip 2 CHs, then make 1 DC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
*Skip 2 STs, make 1 DC V into the next ST
Repeat the step above from * until you have 1 DC V left in this row
Skip to the last CHs at the end of the row, make 1 DC into the tops of those CHS to complete this row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your blanket
This is what my Love Notes Afghan should look like when completed!
