Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Shimmer Spirit Afghan!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 12 + 4, I made 160 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 5th CH from your hook
Make 1 DC into each of the next 2 CHs
*Make 2 CHs, skip 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the next CH
Make 2 CHs, skip 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into each of the next 7 CHs
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: Make 5 CHs
Skip 3 STs, make 1 DC into the next ST
*Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 STs
Make 2 DC into the next CH space
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 2 CHs, SK the next CH space
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 2 CHs, skip 2 STs
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 STs + some CHs left
Skip those last 2 STs, make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
Row 3: Make 5 CHs
Skip the 1st CH space, make 1 DC into the next ST
*Make 2 DC into the next CH space
Make 1 DC into each of the next 4 STs
Make 2 CHs, skip 2 STs
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 2 CHs, skip the next CH space
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH space left
Make 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete this row
Row 4: Make 3 CHs
*Make 2 DC into the 1st CH space
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 2 CHs, skip next CH space
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 2 CHs, skip 2 STs
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH space left
Make 2 DC into the last CH space
Make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete this row
You would now repeat Rows 2, 3 & 4 in order for however long you want your project
This is what my Shimmer Spirit Afghan should look like when completed!
