Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Alternating Puff Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Puff Stitch (PF ST), tutorial here! And how to make the Puff V Stitch, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook
*Skip 2 CHs, (1 PF ST, CH 2, 1 PF ST) all into the next CH
Skip 2 CHs, make 1 DC into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 3 CHs left
Skip 2 CHs, make 1 DC into the last CH to complete
Row 2: CH 3
Make 1 DC into 1st ST
*We're going to work the opposite STs that we made in our last row
Make 1 DC into the CH space of the next previous PF V ST
Make (1 PF ST, CH 2, 1 PF ST) into next previous DC ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST + CHs left
Skip that last ST, make 2 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete
You would now repeat Rows 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Alternating Puff Stitch should look like when completed!
