Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Aurora Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC V into the 5th CH from your hook
1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC all into that 5th CH
*Skip 1 CH, make 1 SC into the next CH
Skip 1 CH, make 1 DC V into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 CHs left in this row
Skip 1 CH, make 1 DC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the 1st ST
*Skip to CH space of next previous DC V ST, make 1 SC into that space
Skip to next previous SC, make 1 DC V into that ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last CHs in this row
Make 1 DC V into those last CHs to complete this row
Row 3: Make 2 CHs
*This row is similar to Row 2
You'll work the opposite stitches into previous stitches
So DC V's into previous SC
and SC into previous DC V spaces
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 1 ST + some CHs left in this row
Skip that last ST, make 1 DC into those last CHs to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Aurora Stitch should look like when completed!
