Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Lattice Iris Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Iris Stitch, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 6
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 2 DC into the 9th CH from your hook
Make 1 CH
Make 2 DC into the same CH, where you made the 1st DCs
Make 1 CH, skip 5 CHs
Then make Shell (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into the next CH
Repeat the steps above until you run out of 5 CHs to skip
Make 1 DC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
Make 2 CHs
*Skip to the next previous CH 1 space
Make Shell (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space
Make 2 CHs
Make 1 SC into the next CH space between Shell STs
Make 2 CHs
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have the last CHs left
Make 1 SC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
Row 3: Make 4 CHs
*Skip to the next previous CH 1 space
Make Shell (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space
Make 1 CH
Skip to the next previous CH 1 space
Make Shell (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 DC into that last ST to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Lattice Iris Stitch should look like when completed!
