Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Whip Stitch Join!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Whip Stitch Join!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this tutorial

This tutorial shows you how to join 2 squares/motifs together. I am using basic Granny Squares for my example squares to join. Video tutorial here and step by step tutorial here for these squares

You'll also need some yarn you will use to join these squares and a larger sewing needle. This sewing needle show is bigger and great for larger yarn

 Thread the joining yarn through that sewing needle

Take that sewing needle through both corners of each square

 

Make sure to pull the extra yarn, from your joining yarn, through those corners
 

*Insert your sewing needle into the next lined up stitches, on both squares

Then make sure to pull the extra yarn, from your joining yarn, through those stitches

 

You'll start repeating the steps above from *

You'll be inserting your sewing needle on the SAME side each time to join

Then you'll just keep going down the whole side of your squares/motifs
