Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Zig Zag Openwork Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Zig Zag Openwork Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of  10 + 5

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 TR into the 5th CH from your hook

Make 1 TR into each of the next 4 CHs

*Skip 4 CHs, make 1 TR into the next CH

CH 4

Make 1 TR into each of the next 4 CHs

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH left

Make 1 TR into that last CH to complete this row

Row 2: Make 4 CHs

Skip the 1st ST,

*Make 5 TR into the next CH space

Skip 5 STs, make 1 TR into the next ST

Make 4 CHs

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left

Make 1 TR into the top of those CHs to complete this row

 

 

You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Zig Zag Openwork Stitch should look like when completed!
