Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Connected Cluster Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make chains, tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Cluster Stitch, tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3 + 5

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 6th CH from your hook

Make 3 CHs

*Starting our Connected Cluster ST:

Cluster Stitches are made from the bottoms of DC STs, clustered together

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook around the DC you had just made, grab the yarn you're working with and bring it around that ST, pulling up 1 loop, you'll have 2 loops on your hook total, that's the bottom of 1 DC ST

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook around the same DC, grab the yarn you're working with and bring it around that ST, pulling up 1 loop, you'll have 3 loops on your hook total, that's another bottom of 1 DC ST

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook around the same DC, grab the yarn you're working with and bring it around that ST, pulling up 1 loop, you'll have 4 loops on your hook total, that's another bottom of 1 DC ST

Skip 2 CHs,

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into the next CH, grab the yarn you're working with and bring it around that ST, pulling up 1 loop, you'll have 5 loops on your hook total

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through all 5 loops on your hook to complete that Connected Cluster ST

Make 3 CHs

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Skip to the next previous CH 3 space, make 1 DC into that space

You're going to repeat the same Connected Cluster ST steps from row 1, working into previous CH spaces instead of CHs

Repeat the same steps from above, until you have some CHs left in this row

Make 1 DC into those CHs to complete this row

You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Connected Cluster Stitch should look like when completed!
